Once all your pre-press needs have been fulfilled OPI (Open Pre-press Interface) technology allows us to save a high-resolution PDF, and send a 72 dpi low-resolution PDF lay file back to you to use for layout purposes.
When you send the approved document back, our software recognizes the low-res PDF and replaces it automatically with the high-res version, at the same size, degree of rotation and crop applied by your designer to the low-res file.
The only processes that the software cannot yet mimic are deep-etching and retouching, which we can do for you directly on the high-res version before sending you the PDF lay file.
Because the OPI process is automated, mistakes at the repro stage are eliminated – there is no human intervention. The designers work with smaller images, which means their machines are faster, refresh times are reduced, and productivity is increased.
The system is in daily use by a number of South Africa’s largest and most demanding retail chains, for whom speed and accuracy are of paramount importance.
