They say that being thrown into the deep end of a project is always a good way to learn…
Oh you can say that again.
Attempting to perfect the flawless, angelic, porcelain skin and plump, provocative red lips of Marilyn Monroe on a VERY stubbled chin and chiseled jaw was NOT the easiest thing. But that’s what happens when you have a man as your model I guess…
After 5 incredible months, I am very proud to finally be qualified as a professional make-up artist. Having studied part-time at The Make-Up Studio in Bryanston, I spent my Monday & Wednesday evenings creating various looks on the other students - a class full of open-minded ladies and yes, a very excitable male. Going from day looks, bridal applications and creative ramp ideas, we ventured through each of the periods too - right from the 1920’s to the 1970’s.
Having studied both practical & theory, I received my Diploma, with an overall percentage of 89.4%. I am thrilled at being able to incorporate my achievements into my career, as make-up has always been my dream job. I must thank the company profusely for giving me this opportunity, especially Tobi for pushing it so much, and hope that I will live up to and exceed your expectations.
Last week, having a bit of free time on our hands, we arranged a test shoot to do some beauty shots with Ice model, Sam Katz. Here’s a sneak peak at some of the images taken..
Will keep you posted!
